Storage Size Inside Smartphone
It seems that the longer the need for storage media on the smartphone is getting bigger. This is influenced by the size of popular applications that are also increasing in size. In smartphones we know what is called NAND Memory. One of the manufacturers of NAND Memory is SK Hynix. Other NAND memory manufacturers are:
- Samsung
- Kioxia
- Micron
- Kingston
- Western Digital
Several Types of NAND Memory:
1. UFS (Universal Flash Storage)
Here are some of UFS version : UFS 2.0, UFS 2.1, UFS 3.0, UFS 3.1, UFS 4.0UFS supports file systems: FAT, exFATHere is a list of smartphones that use UFS memory version 4:
- Realme GT 5
- Realme GT 5 (240W)
- OnePlus Open
- Realme GT 5 Pro
- Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G
- Xiaomi 13 Ultra 5G
- Oppo Find X6 Pro
- OnePlus 12 Pro
Here is a list of smartphones that use UFS memory version 3:
- Samsung Galaxy S20
- OnePlus 8 Pro
- Asus ROG Phone 2
2. eMMC (Embedded Multimedia Card)
eMMC is usually found in low-priced laptops, low-priced tablets, Chromebooks. eMMCs are generally cheaper than SSDs. eMMC usually has less storage capacity. The usual eMMC capacity sizes on the market are 32 GB and 256 GB.
3. uMCP (UFS-Based MCP)
uMCP currently uses LPDDR5 technology.
4. eMCP (Embedded Multi-Chip Package)
Examples of smartphones that use storage media with the type of eMCP:
- Micromax In Note 1
This eMCP performance is somewhere between eMMC and UFS.
USB OTG serves to connect a smartphone with external storage media.
Android apps to manage storage on smartphones:
- ApowerManager
- Dr.Fone - Phone Manager
- TunesGo
- Syncios
- Vibosoft Android Mobile Manager For Windows
- Storage Analyzer
- Disk & Storage Analyzer Pro
- Files by Google
